History

Kingsville Primary School was built by Frank Schillabeer, a one time mayor of Footscray, and a keen campaigner of education opportunities for the western suburbs of Melbourne. Our school opened its doors as a central school on Friday, 1st August 1919 with 280 children enrolled to attend. By the end of August the enrolment was 387, and at the end of the school year there were 410 students.

Numbers have fluctuated a great deal over the years however now, 98 years later Kingsville educators in partnership with parents are proud of the learning experiences provided for the current 645 students.
